Excellent bond strength. High grab. Non-sag.

The Frog range's top-tier adhesive — built for vitrified tile and natural stone on internal and external floor and wall, where extended open time and zero slump matter most.

Frog Stonefix T5, 20kg bag

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Natural stone and large-format vitrified tile don't forgive a weak bed. Frog Stonefix T5 is formulated with extended open time, high initial grab and a non-sag body, so heavy stone slabs stay exactly where you set them — on facades, external paving, and feature walls exposed to real weather.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • ●Excellent bond strength for stone and vitrified tile
  • ●High grab and non-sag property on vertical surfaces
  • ●Rated for internal and external floor & wall
  • ●Extended open time for large-slab positioning
  • ●Top classification in the Frog adhesive range

ADVANTAGES ON SITE

  • ✓Confidently spec on facades and exterior paving without a separate exterior-only product

INSTALLATION METHOD

Surface prep, mixing, and application

STEP 01 — SURFACE PREPARATION

  • Confirm the substrate is fully cured, structurally sound and free of laitance or coatings.
  • Test absorbent natural stone backs for staining risk before full installation.
  • Prime highly porous or non-absorbent substrates per site conditions.

STEP 02 — MIXING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Add powder to approximately 5–5.5 litres of clean water per 20 kg bag.
  • Mix mechanically to a smooth, non-sag paste — avoid over-watering.
  • Rest 5 minutes, then re-mix briefly before use.

STEP 03 — APPLICATION

  • Comb with a 10–12 mm notch and always back-butter stone or large-format tile.
  • Bed with a slight sliding motion to maximise contact; check transfer regularly.
  • Support heavy slabs with spacers or wedges until initial set on vertical work.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Stonefix T5 safe for light-coloured natural stone?

Always test on an offcut first — porous, light-coloured stones like marble can be sensitive to moisture. A patch test confirms there's no shadowing before full installation.

Can it be used on external paving and podium decks?

Yes, Stonefix T5 is rated for internal and external floor and wall, including exterior paving over a sound, well-drained substrate.

Why is back-buttering recommended?

Large-format and natural stone tiles often have uneven backs. Back-buttering fills the gap and maximises adhesive contact, which is essential for full bond strength.

What's the difference between Stonefix T5 and Megafix T2?

Stonefix T5 carries the highest classification in the range (C2TE) with extended open time, purpose-built for natural stone and exterior exposure — a step above Megafix T2's tile-on-tile focus.
